We've just noticed a problem - no user without an existing user account within PN_zClassifieds user list can create an ad - they're told that they're "banned". There's definitely no entry in the ban list, and it's doing it for newly created PN users.
This is 2.4 on PN.764. I don't know if the problem appeared at the same time as the upgrade from 2.1 - I'm preparing for an upgrade to 2.5 on Zik1. It may have appeared at a recent server move, including a change from PHP4 to PHP5.
(By the way - the theme on this site appears to be broken for Firefox users - this text box stretches past the side of the window, so I can't see anything being typed towards the right hand edge...)

Hello,
This is the first time such a problem is reported.
I will see if I can find any reason such an error message can be displayed when it shouldn't and report here what I have found.

I see no problem in the ban system of PN_zClassifieds.
But looking at the code I see a problem :
the message "you have been banned by the administrator" can be displayed for reason having nothing to do with the banned system.
I will correct the problem introducing new errors messages so that users can see the exact cause why they are not allowed to post ads.
In the meantime you should verify in the module configuration
- that anonymous users are allowed to post ads
- that a positive number have been entered for max number of ads

Anon aren't permitted to post, but they haven't been up until now anyway - this hasn't been changed. These are all users who are logged on within PN. Setting to allow anonymous users to post does not change this - "new" users to the ads are still told they're "banned".
There's not many ads in there at the moment, certainly nowhere near the most we've ever had. I don't see a setting for the total maximum ads - only the maximum per user (30) - which, of course, they're nowhere near because these are "new" users (to PN_zClassifieds).
<thinks>
<does a test>
Hey - I didn't notice that! It's not JUST new users... It's ALL users! I can't post ads, either. It's just that newbs are the only ones that have complained...
JM - I'm happy to give you a user ID and access, if you wish.

Hello,
when you said :
(By the way - the theme on this site appears to be broken for Firefox users - this text box stretches past the side of the window, so I can't see anything being typed towards the right hand edge...)
Do you mean in the forum or in my PN_zClassifieds section ?
I use Firefox but I don't see the problem. It would help if you can post me a screen copy showing the problem to vedrine _AT_ vedrine _DOT_ net. Thanks

Hello,
Yes, if you don't mind me posting some test ads (if ever I manage to post some ...) I would like to register on your website and do some testing. You can send me the informations to vedrine _AT_ vedrine _DOT_ net

Hello,
Thanks to Adrianc report, I have found a bug in the ip banning mechanism.
All version of PN_zClassifieds can be affected under some circonstances.
If you have not banned any user (the bug is in the ip banning but only happend if you ban an user) you are not affected.
New corrected versions 2.41 (for PostNuke) and 2.51 (for Zikula) are on the way.
