I was really looking forward to using theme specific topic images, but I have ran into an fatal error after installation of Extended Topics 1.51. The web page would not load and I had an error message that said:
CitationDB Error: getArticles: 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 25
As soon as I restored the func.php to it's original state, the website came back (even before I restored the original Topics module). It would seem that there were other revisions made to func.php between postnuke versions 0.760 and 0.761.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

    - thanks

    Hello,
    Thanks for reporting this problem.
As I don't use the News module (I use pagesetter as a news module replacment) this problem stayed unnoticed and I was thinking there was no PN .761 compatibility problem.
You can now find an updated 1.52 version in the Downloads section of this vebsite with a funcs.php file for PN .761.
But as you say that you uninstalled extended topics, you will have a small problem because all previous versions had an uninstallation problem : they left the topics table with all the additional fields. This doesn't prevent the core Topics module from working, but when you try to re-install the extended topics module later, you get an error message saying that the columns already exists.
Only solution si either to delete the topics table if you haven't too much topics already entered or to use phpmyadmin to manually delete the fields:
    pn_topicparent
    pn_topicnametag
    pn_topictexttag
    pn_topicexttext
from the topics table before re-installing extended_topics.
This problem is now corrected in extended topics 1.52 and the module will correctly return the topics table to it's original state.

    Hello

I tried downloading the new 1.52 version for extended topics. Unfortunately the actual download is still 1.51. The newest file in the download is dated 22 March 05.

Any chance of getting the latest version?

    Thanks for your time

    Hello,
I looked at the zip archive and everything seems correct
    - html/modules/Topics/pninit.php file is modified to correctly handle module's uninstallation
    - there is a new html\modules\for the News module (read docs)\for PostNuke .761 News module\funcs.php file
    - the version number in html/modules/Topics/pnversion.php is changed.
So for me this is 1.52 version.
What must confuse you is the fact that I don't use a CVS system for this module because I don't have access to the original account (I am not the original developper of this module) so I don't care to change the first line of each file at each bugfix because I would have to do it manually.
So for instance the pninit.php still display:
    / $Id: Topics/pninit.php, v1.4 2004/10/03 jmvedrine Exp $
but it was modified 2 days ago !! I know this not good but I had to do the fix to resolve your problem in a few minutes because of all the other work I had to do.
This problem will hopefully be resolved in a near future because I will be able to get developper access to Extended Topics NOC account after we officially declare this project orphaned (we want to clean the NOC of all projects not having released files for years)
Can you please try the 1.52 version as it is now in the Downloads section and see if it works with .761 ? I promise to change all dates for the official release icon_biggrin

I just downloaded the 1.52 version again on un packing the files I get
html\modules\for the News module (read docs)\for PostNuke .760 News module\funcs.php

html\modules\for the News module (read docs)\for PostNuke .750 News module\funcs.php

I've still got the 151 version so I compared the files and they are exactly the same as the ones in 1.52

In stalling the funcs.php for 760 just crashes the site.

Something screwy is happening. Is it possible to email the files you have to me
dfount [at] firstedge dot com dot au.

On another note, I'm progressing with the new pmBox 2.82 slowly but progressing. I haven't had much time for a couple of weeks and hopefully I get back to it in a couple of days.

    Thanks for you time.

    Best Regards
    Denis

I am stupid because I verified the file and it was ok icon_biggrin but the downloads module was still pointing to the old one icon_eek icon_eek
I think that now the problem is corrected !!
In any case I will also send you the file.
    I apologize.

mickeyDid the breadcrumbs works with non Xanthia themes ?

I made breadcrumbs plugins for both pagesetter and the News modules.
pagesetter breadcrumbs work also with non Xanthia themes (Autothemes and "classic" themes) this is possible because pagesetter use pnRender templates so you are able to include the plugins in these templates.
But the plugins for the News modules will only work with Xanthia themes.
When the completely rewritten News module will be released, I will be able to also release a version working with all themes for this module.
Last note converting an autotheme or a classic theme to a Xanthia one is usually only a few hours of work. The one for this website was converted from the I-Nuka full width autotheme theme, adapted to suit my needs (colors, images, styles) and rewritten to output valid 4.01 Transitional pages (unfortunately most PostNuke modules don't :()

    Hello,

Thanks you very much for the extended topics for 761, it works like a charm.

I did make a couple of very minor changes to suit my needs:
    funcs.php (761) around line I added:
    Code
    title="'.$info['topictext'].'"
to the seerach topic a tag

    And in Topics/pnuser.php lines 118,120 and 295,297
    a few ampersands need fixing.

Thanks again for all your help

    Best Regards
    Denis
