To be able to upload a personal avatar an user need at least ADD permission. For instance to allow upload for the "Users" group members, go to Administration -> Permissions and add the rule :
Users     pnavatar::     .*     Add

I'm having some trouble with permissions.

I gave Users the Add permission for the pnavatar module, but the upload section only appears for admins.

My rule looks like this:

4 Users pnavatar:: .* Add


No idea what's wrong. Care to help?

Unfortunately for Permissions, the rules' order does matter.
So I can't answer if you don't post all your rules here or PM me these rules.

you helped me with a weather module a while back, cheers for that works a dream and looks great.
Sorry gotta admit I dont use pnavatar, but my webhost does and we are good friends so I help him postnuke sites and config things (only because I have used postnuke longer , nice to say he's a noobie )
I must say playing in permissions is not a nice thing...but that is why pnsak was made for thank god.
I thought I could add a bit of a hand here for permission newbies based on blank site and pnavatar

my permissions settings are:
1 Admins .* .* Admin
2 All groups Menublock:: Main Menu:Administration: None
3 Users pnavatar:: .* Add
4 Users .* .* Comment
5 Unregistered Menublock:: Main Menu:(My Account|Logout|Submit News): None
6 Unregistered .* .*

that is based on a new testing site with no modifications upon pn 0.7.6.3 install

I did get this right first time, pretty good for me.
One point tho, which made me question my permission was, I didnt read the page. I know it clearly states avatar size 50X50 and 5k, quick fingers make for long reading. The image I was uploading exceded this and made me think it wasn't working. A thumbnail just does not fit into 50X50 and under k
