    Howdy,

I'm using EnvoAvatar 1.1 on my site. I think I might be doing something wrong, though, because when a guest registers on my site, they can choose anyone's avatar.

My avatars are set to the default pers_XXX.ext setting. Is there something I need to adjust that will prevent guests from being able to select already existing members' avatars?

    The page says:
QuoteIn this section you can fix particular prefix for groups. As an example if you assign "writer" as prefix to the editor's group, only users who are member of this group will see avatars with name like "writer_xxxxx.ext ". If you want that a group can see all avatars, enter the character * as prefix.

P.S. Remember that avatars uploaded by users have name like "pers_userID.ext" and by default are only available to the owner. To allow others to see personal avatars you have to set their prefix to "pers".

    But this isn't very clear.

    Thanks!

    Hello,
Unfortunately I am able to confirm that this is a problem with the actual version of EnvoAvatar.
    Possible solutions :
    - edit the core PostNuke files. I am not incluned to do that because you will have to redo it each time you upgrade your PostNuke install
    - deactivate avatars in the dynamic user data admin panel and let your users only change their avatar throught EnvoAvatar block and My Account links (look on the http://www.vedrine.net website it is done that way)
Quick reply
